Delivery, Installation and Basework

At Burtenshaw Garden Buildings we are proud of our name and reputation, built up over years of hard work and dedication to making outstanding garden buildings which will give you many years of pleasure.

We want to ensure that the whole experience for you - from initial enquiry, the ordering process, delivery and installation runs as smoothly and as efficiently as possible.

To help us achieve this, please would you read through the information below to see if there anything that you think may impede our access to the delivery or installation of your building. We offer a free site survey if you are in any doubt.

Burtenshaw Garden Buildings deliver free of charge within an approximate range of of 25 miles radius from Tonbridge (TN9). Please contact us to confirm whether you are within our free delivery area. We are happy to deliver outside this area but have to charge accordingly.

(NB. Our greenhouse agents deliver throughout most of the UK).

Our vans need to park as close as possible to the delivery site. If you have any local parking restrictions please would you ensure that you have the correct permits/tickets available for our delivery team.

If your order is a flat packed delivery, we will usually stack/lay the building at your nearest point of access.

Good, clear access to your site is important, enabling our drivers to carry the panels without height restrictions, around awkward bends, over walls/fences/hedges etc, or over buildings such as garages. It can be very frustrating for everyone if our team turn up to find they cannot get the panels of your building to the installation site and you may incur an additional handling charge.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any access problems - we offer a free site survey if you are in any doubt and buildings can be made in smaller sections if necessary.

Basework & Installation
Your installation site should be at least 8” (200mm) away from obstacles, such as fences/walls/hedges etc. This makes allowance for the roof overhang and gives our team space to work.

All garden buildings must be installed onto a firm, level and square base to ensure their stability and the correct operation of doors and opening windows. Suitable bases are concrete, slabs and solid platforms, and in the case of greenhouses, a prefabricated aluminium base on a concrete and/or brick plinth.

You can prepare the site yourself - please refer to our basework recommendations or call us for guidance.

Or we offer a complete installation service, including dismantling and removing your old building, groundwork, basework, new building installation, hard landscaping, decking etc. Please ask for a free quotation.
